Meet The Therapists
Philip J. Garofalo, PTA, BS

Philip specializes in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, and, as
president and director of North South Physical Therapy and Broadway
Physical Therapy, cultivated the idea of bringing highly skilled
physical therapy clinics into the neighborhood setting. He is a
long-standing member of the American Physical Therapy Association, as
well as the local Massachusetts chapter. Philip graduated Magna Cum
Laude from Newbury College with a physical therapist assistant degree
and holds a health care administration degree with a minor in business
from Newbury College. During his off time Phil enjoys watching and
playing football, and also enjoys sponsoring local boxing events.
Elias Ortiz, PTA

Elias graduated from Newbury College and has been with North South
Physical Therapy since 2001. He is currently the Clinic Director of
Rehabilitation. Elias has worked for rehabilitation facilities such as
the Jewish Memorial Hospital, Sundance Rehab Center, and
Newton-Wellesley Sports Orthopedics. Elias specializes in orthopedic
rehabilitation including post-operative care. In his spare time, Elias
plays drums, records music, and plays a variety of sports.
Eric Getkin, PT

Originally from New York, Eric graduated from Northeastern
University in 1999 and has worked with North South Physical Therapy
since 2002. Specializing primarily in orthopedics, Eric has also worked
at a neurological rehabilitation center, and inpatient hospital, a
sub-acute hospital, a camp for physically/mentally challenged teenagers
and several other orthopedic facilities. In his free time he enjoys
going to the movies, watching baseball and traveling.
Margaret King, PT

Margaret King, PT is a 1995 graduate of Northeastern University. She
also holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Maine. Her
background includes student affiliations with Walden Rehab Nursing Home,
Beverly Hospital, Cotting School, Shattuck Hospital, and Holy Family
Hospital. Margaret has also worked in Respiratory Rehab at Mass.
Respiratory Hospital. Margaret has also worked at many outpatient
orthepeadic rehab clinics, and has owned her own facility. Margaret
specializes in shoulder rehabilitation, and is proficient in manual
therapy. In her free time Margaret enjoys singing, acting and planning
fitness activities with children.
Kurt Marcella, PTA

Kurt Marcella Graduated from Newbury College in 1998. Kurt is also a
graduate from Berklee College of Music. He has been practicing physical
therapy since 1998, and has been working with North South Physical
Therapy since September 2000. Kurt is a spinal rehab specialist and also
has experience in transitional care. In his off time, Kurt enjoys
playing drums and working in his back yard.
Deborah Weir, PTA

Debbie graduated in 1978 from Holliston College. She has been
practicing for 28 years and is licensed both in Massachusetts and
Vermont. Debbie has worked as a visiting home therapist, in skilled
nursing facilities, and at a veteran's administration hospital. She has
spent the past 15 years specializing in outpatient orthopedics. In her
spare time Debbie likes to play the guitar and harmonica. She is also an
avid fisherman and enjoys all outdoor activities.
Pam Iapicca, LPTA

Pam is a 1987 graduate of Lasell Jr College. Student rotations
included Jewish Memorial Hospital, Newton Wellesley Hospital
(orthopedics in-patient and out patient), and Spaulding Rehabilitation
Hospital. Work experience includes Spaulding Rehab Hospital with
experience in head trauma, cardiac rehab, pediatrics, stroke and amputee
rehab. Pam's background also includes Home Care Services with Spaulding
and then other out-patient clinic services. She has been with NSPT
since 2009. In her off time, Pam enjoys time with family/friends,
gardening, reading, outdoor activities and painting.
Thomas Wells, PTA

Tom Wells graduated in 2009 from Bay State College with a Physical
Therapist Assistant degree. Tom has been practicing physical therapy
since 2009 in the area orthopedics. He has performed several clinical
rotations including the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Tom enjoys
watching sports and playing basketball in his spare time.
Danielle Cote, PTA

Danielle graduated from North Shore Community College in 2011.
Prior to becoming a licensed PTA, Danielle worked in Human Services
where she advocated for individuals with various types of disabilities.
Danielle is an avid animal lover, who enjoys camping and country music.
Cynthia Morales, PTA

Cynthia graduated from Bay State College in 2003. During her time as a student, Cynthia successfully completed clinical rotations at
Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Tufts New England Medical Center.
Cynthia has concentrated the majority of her career in out-patient
orthopedic clinical settings. She is a strong believer in the
importance of patient education for enhancing patients' quality of life,
focusing on overall health and wellness awareness with patients. In her
free time, Cynthia enjoys singing, reading, and fitness training.
Cynthia Lee, LMT

A Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Massachusetts, Cindy
received her training from Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy. Her
training from Cortiva includes Swedish, myofascial,sports, deep tissue
and therapeutic massage. Cynthia has experience in clinical and spa
setting establishments. Her desire is to help people. She loves to learn
about people to better help them relax and recover.
