What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar Faciitis is a common cause of heel pain and ankle pain. Heel pain causes include walking with a pronated step, activities such as prolonged walking or standing, and running sports such as soccer and basketball. These activities can create small tears in the ligament on the bottom of the foot, causing the ligament to become inflamed.Symptoms of Plantar fasciitis
Heel and arch pain from Plantar Fasciitis is described as both dull and sharp, and may be more intense upon awakening, after walking and standing for long periods of time, and going up or down stairs. Also, tenderness to the touch, swelling or a hot sensation in the foot and ankle.Plantar fasciitis treatment
Stretches for Plantar Faciitis and flexibility exercises to help restore lost range of motion are the best treatment for plantar fasciitis. Application of a topical anti-inflammatory may also help. As plantar fasciitis exercise helps your pain and inflammation recede, we will add plantar fasciitis exercises for strength and endurance.
